I come from a small West Texas community myself, and this institution is an extension of the kids and culture that surrounds the area.
I feel that the student body isn't too diverse, but the university makes a good effort to expose and market their high quality graduate curriculums at an honest price. This helps bring in folks from all over the country!
The professor's here are INCREDIBLY down to earth and easy to learn from. Most all do a good job challenging their students with fairly extensive projects, exams, and daily work. This coming from the perspective of a kid in the Business Dept. They are AACSB accredited which they take great pride in.
I'm currently working at a mid-size software company, and I can point to the teachers who specifically have helped me thrive in this hybrid sales/marketing position.
I'm doing exactly what I went to school for, and it's a great feeling. I recommend this school if you like laid back, clean, and country...

My experience at West Texas A&M has been overall positive. The nursing instructors are incredibly kind and adaptable, always willing to work with me to ensure I succeed in my studies. Their support and flexibility have been invaluable. Additionally, the financial aid office has been consistently helpful and accommodating. Every time I have contacted them, they have been exceptionally nice and eager to assist me with any issues or questions I have had.
However, I believe there is room for improvement in student life and activities on campus. Currently, I do not feel very engaged or encouraged to participate in the few activities that are available. I would like to see the university put more effort into enhancing student life and providing more opportunities for students to connect and get involved on campus.

One of the best experiences of my life. I learned a lot here and not just in the class room. I was not the best student all the time, but I had some excellent teachers in my corner. I did my best and eventually did graduate. West Texas is a friendly inclusive place that can be both calm and the life of the party. Go Buffs!
