TRY TO DEFEAT SCP-2747 aka "The Sevenfold Destroyer",the Queen of the Black Void . | Fandom (2024)

I meant to respond to this ages ago, but you sent me down the SCP rabbit hole and that thing is hard to crawl back out of. This also ended up being a really long reply, so there's that too.

Regardless, SCP-2747 is the Queen of Thorns, the Anafabula. It manifests in any narrative that exhibits a specific set of tropes and erases it. Nothing within the narrative can survive such a fate, which is bad for the Foundation given that they are within a narrative of their own due to the nature of the verse. She was also able to seal away the Scarlet King within his own narrative due to her tropes being prevalent in his tale, which is certainly an impressive feat. It also implies a certain level of sentience/sapience with the statement "But the lady of black thorns was clever" (there is a hidden collapsible at the end of the linked SCP article, between the final line and the footnotes), which could certainly make this more difficult.

In a broader scope, SCP-2747 is "a weaker aspect / version of the Constant of Anafabula ('bad narrative'), which defines the point at which an SCPverse story becomes too 'trope-y' and falls into narrative collapse", with these Constants being "hyperdimensional algorithms...which define multiversal narrative elements" - in essence, these are foundational aspects of every narrative within the SCP verse embodied as eldritch entities that then project lesser versions of themselves down into the multiverse. In the case of the Constant of Anafabula, this is SCP-2747, though how much of this needs to be taken into account when thinking of beating 2747, I don't know. I did ask about the Placeholder model of Pataphysics (Placeholder McD is the author of SCP-6820 and creator of this particular model of Pataphysics), and got this diagram to try and help explain it. There was also an existing diagram here. These would tend to put the Constants above everything actually within the SCP verse as we are familiar with it, but beneath us and our proxies (literally the 'Proxyverse', which represents the wiki and the editor accounts on it).

In any case, I think @Kirinator07 put it well. A big issue with things like this is that when considering any character, they exist in the context of their verse, and their power is scaled based on that. We don't have that with the powers on here. They are considered outside of the context of any given verse, and thus have no bounds where they may otherwise if actually implemented into a verse. This is especially true of absolute abilities, for which the only actual scaling on here is 'absolute', and if they are limited in their fields in any way then they are no longer considered absolute.

Having said all that, I have a bit of a running thing with SCP posts that started... probably around a year ago now, in a post that was something like 'you get sent into the SCP verse with one power of your choosing' or perhaps 'if you were an SCP, what would your power be', or something like that. I can't remember, and annoyingly, I've never been able to find that post again. I do seem to remember the last (or one of the last) replies was someone responding with either Drug or Alcohol Manipulation under the reasoning of dealing with the existential dread of being in the SCP verse. I never actually responded to it either, but that was because I decided to start writing a mock SCP article for my response, just because I thought it would be fun and I'd spent way too long thinking about it, and then I got caught up with stuff irl and never finished it.

But the power, which has essentially been what I've kept choosing in SCP posts because I think it's fun to kind of tie it all together in a weird sort of self-insert canon, is this:

Main: Boundless Inner World - I possess a boundless world within myself. It normally takes the form of an endless plane with a floor of water that can't be disturbed (beyond small ripples) or have its surface penetrated (i.e., everyone can walk on it) and a sky which is dark except for glowing eye-like symbols every so often, littering the sky like stars. Other portions of my world take different appearances.

  • Capable of achieving Omnilock if I completely enter the BIW, since it exists entirely within me, and the only way it is ever within the rest of totality is via being within me whilst I am within totality, so if I am completely within it, then it exists completely within me within itself - thus existing entirely within itself - instead of existing within the rest of totality in any form. In this way, by entering it completely, I and the BIW as a collective exist entirely outside of everything. Does that make sense?

  • Sole absolute authority over my Boundless Inner World (aka what it talks about in the 'capabilities' section of the page). As a result, I can freely command it and anything within or connected to it with said absolute authority, making my commands absolute and irrefutable and allowing me to perfectly and unquestionably achieve anything within it simply by commanding it so (whether that be spoken commands, gesture-based commands, or even just will-based commands, my intention is what matters).

  • The nature of my BIW, primarily as a result of the previous two points, means that it is internally distinct and entirely independent of the verse. Kant counters utilised by the Foundation to measure its Hume level would be incapable of returning a reading, and it does not operate off of known Pataphysical (narrative) principles.

  • A Transcendent Connection with my Boundless Inner World and any being that I manifest/create within it. This allows me to draw/channel power from said beings, as well as the world itself.

I have several inner beings that I would have created within my BIW, including two main Inner Gods: Azoth (the embodiment of the BIW, with all the powers that would entail. I also do want to say for the record that the idea this entity is based off of predated my account, though was the origin of the account name) and Wrath (similar to the Absence, if you've seen that, both in appearance and in the fact that it doesn't run, just walks, but is essentially a walking inevitability. Possesses a contact based version of Absolute Erasure, as well as Absolute Disaster Manipulation - insofar as it is the disaster - and Universal Irreversibility). Wrath spends most of its time bound in my BIW, basically never being released outside of highly exceptional circ*mstances, and Azoth helps me if I want it to but also provides a passive defense against any external threats (i.e., it monitors things so I don't have to).

So for the purposes of this, I'm going to assume I end up in a narrative that has all the tropes necessary to manifest SCP-2747, thus necessitating a direct conflict.

Here's how I see this going:

SCP-2747 manifests within the narrative, either completely or partially (but moreso over time).

I am immune to immediate erasure both/either due to Azoth's interference or due to projecting my BIW slightly around myself (like a far better version of Gojo's Infinity) meaning that anything that tries to affect me on any level must first enter into a region of my BIW and thus be subject to my authority.

I either directly notice what is occuring to the narrative I'm in or Azoth notifies me of it.

I internalise both the narrative and SCP-2747 into my BIW.

I repair any damage done to the narrative and externalise it again.

I analyse (or have Azoth analyse) SCP-2747 to see if it actually serves any necessary function within the verse (in other words, if I get rid of it permanently, will everything fall apart?).

If not, I bind it within my BIW or erase it outright.

If it does, then I impose some restrictions upon it (the specifics depend on the 'necessary function' it serves) and release it again.
